This book idea started as I was waiting in line at my doctor's office. The hospital I go to is very large and has a section for the lab and pharmacy, as well as hundreds of doctors' offices. Every time I walk into this place for a blood draw or a routine check-up, my heart breaks.
Walking into the buildings, you see many people coming and going, but most are walking slowly, limping, with walkers, or even in wheelchairs. The obesity rate is alarming and saddens my heart, but it’s a normal thing you see here in the States since the S.A.D. (Standard American Diet) is the way of life.
The line at the pharmacy can easily take up to an hour for a simple prescription, which brings awareness that many people are relying on pharmaceutical drugs to help with their ailments, and it’s usually more than one medication they're on.
High blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol-lowering medication, antidepressants—the list goes on and on of the medications that are heavily taken.
My mind quickly thinks of how I can share the knowledge I have gained over all these years with these people who are hurting. How can I let them know there’s a better way? Can I hand out my business card to each one in there? Do I even have 200+ cards on me to give to everyone in this room?
When I or someone close to me is sick or has health issues, I quickly think about what foods can help them. What natural remedies have I used or helped others with? My mind goes straight to what can help the body heal itself naturally. Our bodies were intelligently designed to heal themselves if given the right circumstances, maybe not for every ailment, but for the majority.
This is how I came up with this new eBook of mine. I may not have time for a personal consultation with all these people I see hurting and in pain, but if I can have a book that is like sitting down with me and having a personal consultation with a Registered Dietitian, then that’s what I want to create.
This book gives a good idea of how I approach my clients in a consultation as a dietitian. It has questions for you to answer and then helps you see why those questions were asked in the first place, and what can be done to improve that area of health.
We are fed so much information about health and dieting that it’s hard to know what to believe. But there are basics that never change. This book covers those basics. You don’t have to do them all at once, but rather choose a couple of things to start with and go from there. This book can be used over and over until you have reached all the areas of health and lifestyle that you are wanting to achieve over time.
Whether it’s you or someone you know who is hurting or has health issues, please share this book with them. The principles stand true and are not a quick fix or the latest trend that quickly comes and goes. They are the ones that can help lower medications, improve movement, reduce inflammation, and improve mood.
This book is my way to reach all those people who need help and don’t know where to turn. For all those sick, tired, and injured people I see lined up at the hospital, this is for you. Or for those who want to avoid becoming someone who is dependent on the pharmaceutical industry, this is for you. [Drugs/medications] have their time and place, but let’s try to avoid it as much as possible.
God bless you on your health journey.

Great!
This is very helpful and insightful. It’s an easy read but also one I want to go back and do it slowly to really apply it to my life.
This is a very nice reason to write such a book. I can't wait to sit down and read mine.
